A large, crumpled yellow envelope has sat on the top shelf of my wardrobe. For over thirty years, it has journeyed with me from house to house, country to country, a witness to everything that happened. Its soft creases and faded ochre hue tell the story of time passed, each corner reinforced with gaffer tape.

Inside is a story that spans continents: photographs, police reports, journal entries, and faded facsimiles.

There's even a postcard from Cape Town, South Africa, written by Conrad, the tornado himself.

January 1995 - Brisbane, Australia. The bike being crated for shipment to London—without my knowledge.
